Welcome to Tenuta Girasasso

A place where nature and history intertwine among the vines and the roots of time.

Located in front of the castle of Pia de’ Tolomei, which Dante recalls in Canto V of Purgatorio, our 18-hectare estate rises in a landscape of extraordinary beauty, where past and present coexist in harmony.

Our 8 hectares of vineyards, divided between Vermentino, Viognier, and Ciliegiolo, are the result of careful and respectful work, certified as organic by “Suolo e Salute,” the most accredited body in the Tuscany region. Every sip of wine tells a story, a journey that starts in Maremma and reaches your table.

But Girasasso is not just wine. We are the only ones in Maremma to grow and sell organic blackberries, a rare excellence that reflects our commitment to uniqueness and quality. We also grow aglione, the garlic without a skin typical of Val di Chiana, and our plums from the orchard pair beautifully with the sweetness of our soils.

Our tenuta is a world of its own: meadows dedicated to horses, ornamental chickens, peacocks, ponies, and dogs. All our animals are fed with products from our organic fields, making our farm an ecosystem that celebrates nature in all its forms. A tribute to Orwell’s Animal Farm, but here respect and balance reign supreme.

At Tenuta Girasasso, we invite you to experience a sensory journey that blends taste, history, and the land into a single Dante-esque vision, where landscape and wine become poetry.
