“The name Girasasso was born from a moment of wonder and surprise: during the excavation of the land to plant the vineyards, we were struck by the quantity and quality of the stones that emerged. Some were so large that we had to turn them several times to move them, and it was from this repeated gesture, almost playfully, that the name Girasasso – that literally means “tun the stone” – came about.
A name that evokes the strength and tenacity of the land, the same that led our wines to win the Best Design Award 2024 at Vinitaly, a recognition of the beauty and excellence of our work.”

Vermentino, the queen grape of the Maremma coast, is the heart of the most representative white of the DOC Maremma Toscana. We interpret it by seeking a balance between maturation and alcohol content, focusing on a distinctive acidity and more restrained alcohol levels (when possible, depending on the vintage).
